Is it so????

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the last meeting, and there were a couple of things that I heard about..... I was wondering if they were true. First, is it true that we will no longer have "private pay" details, and that they will all become "city pay" details? Second, is it true that we will no longer be able to go tax exempt for certain payweeks, i.e., Mardi Gras? If these things are in fact true, what are everyones feelings on it? Just curious....

a lot of us regulars didn't make that last meeting; i was working a swap that day. seems like the worst one to miss out of all of them. now i need bloodborne pathogens!! well, the video anyway. i don't really need to be afflicted by them.

I was at the the first meeting and did not hear that all details will be city pay.Although I might have miss understood. As far as no more tax exempt for such things as Mardi grass. I dont remember if that was talked about at all.Hopefully some one took notes at the meeting and will pass on the info.

Yes acorrding to M&J if your doing a detail thats private pay your not cover under city insurence which means if you get hurt it all on you. No worker comp. will cover you. So there working a way that if you work a detial it will fall under a special CODE on your time sheet where you will get the same amount of detail money. But you will covered if something happens.
Also it's suppose to be Illegal to go tax exempt or something like that or another did really understand that part . As i dont understand much that the IRS does anyway. But neither one of them seemed like a BAD idea BAD DID I JUST SAY THAT???

ok heres my interpretation of the meeting....the details are for paramedics only unless they cant find enough to work the detail then it will open up to whomever and it will be at your overtime rate thats to compensate for paramedics not being allowed to work ot,tax exemption is still ok for now but they said (mark) that it was illegal (duh) to switch back and forth and something about Acadian (who gives a shit) got in trouble for that once and stopped it. But if other civil service employees are allowed to go tax exempt then we all are allowed think they were just advising agaisnt it. But who knows! Thats my understanding or lack there of ...of the meeting and tell Faith that the meetings are 100%mandatory Bye ya'll!!

melinda, i think the jist of the memo is that you can bring cva's to mercy if they are the closest facility regardless of their neuro status. and if they bitch at you, you should contact mgmt.
